The surface matched; the model did not. The Four Questions What did I expect? What actually happened? Which old-tool rule did I import? What new-tool rule explains the result? Why This Works The questions separate evidence from irritation. You stop saying 'this tool is weird' and start saying 'attachments are not first-class knowledge objects here.' That is a usable mental model.
